Changes to Google AdWords URL policy to be enforced from April 1

Google has officially announced that from April 1 2008, it will be enforcing its AdWords URL policy more strictly. While this display URL policy is already in existence, a recent blog post on the official Google AdWords blog has publicised the fact that Google will no longer be allowing certain exceptions to their policy guidelines. Its enforcement policy will apply to all advertisers, regardless of past approvals and will include redirects and vanity URLs.While the enforcement will not affect all advertisers, it is an important development for advertisers to be aware of. Anyone who does not comply with the policy guidelines risks disruption to their ads and the possibility of future disapprovals.Google told Barry Schwartz at searchengineland that its goal is to "have policies that are fair, consistent, and adaptable".

The State News

Illinois head coach Jolette Law said Davidson's two 3-pointers, which gave MSU a permanent lead, were like a dagger to the heart of her team.

"She had the swagger about her that said, 'I'm going to will my team to win'," Law said. "I know she is very offensive-minded, and once she gets going she's a great player.

"Tonight, she put MSU on her back and willed them to victory."

Against Purdue on Feb. 24, the Spartans were crushed on the boards by almost 20 in the 69-59 loss. Thursday night, however, MSU turned the tables and dominated Illinois 46-28 on the boards.

"The Purdue game was kind of like a slap in the face," freshman guard Brittney Thomas said. "We were doing good, but don't forget how you got there and why you're doing good.

A Great Buying Opportunity?

Both are bi-products of the busy private equity calendar of recent years. There are several types of loans in the market today. In the following I will focus on only the highest quality loans - the so-called senior secured loans (also known as first lien loans) which are essentially fully collateralised bank loans provided to companies which have restructured their balance sheets - often in connection with a leveraged buyout[i]. The loans run for 4-5 years, sometimes longer, and are usually priced to yield Libor + 250-300 bps. They are issued at par, they mature at par (barring a default situation), and the typical loan-to-value is less than 50%, so the loans are usually very well protected. In a default situation, equity, high yield bonds, mezzanine debt and second lien debt all stand in front of senior secured loans when the creditors knock on the door.

Conman Foster jailed in Australia

AUSTRALIAN conman Peter Foster, who escaped from military custody in Fiji at the height of the December 5 takeover, has been sentenced to four-and-a-half years in jail yesterday after pleading guilty to a money laundering charge in a Brisbane court.

Peter Clarence Foster, 45, of the Gold Coast, pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court in Brisbane to a charge relating to fraudulently obtaining just over $300,000 from the Bank of the Federated States of Micronesia, an AAP report stated.

Justice James Sholto Douglas heard the matter in the Brisbane Supreme Court yesterday, Court officials revealed from Brisbane.

He was sentenced to four-and-a-half years jail but will be eligible for parole after two years and three months.

Foster, who has described himself as a human headline, was arrested by Australian Federal Police officers in February this year after he arrived at the Brisbane Airport on a flight from Vanuatu.

About $500 in cash (no, actually I'm pretty sure you can pay .

POLICE BLOTTER, March 4

Kenneth H. Jackson, 32, of Charlotte Church, Va., was charged with careless driving at 12:17 p.m. Wednesday after the tractor trailer truck he was driving struck a traffic signal light, causing it to break off and land on top of the trailer, police said. Mr. Jackson’s vehicle struck the light after he turned too tightly from Alexander Street onto Faculty Road, police said. He then drove approximately 50 feet with the traffic light still on top of the trailer before it fell off onto Faculty Road, police said. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The Mercer County Department of Transportation and Public Service Electric & Gas Co. were called to the scene for repairs to the traffic light. Approximately $400 worth of property — including a credit card, perfume, change, sunglasses and mints — was stolen from five unlocked vehicles that were entered on Carnahan Place, Henry Avenue and Jefferson Road on Sunday, police said.

The good, bad and flinty: Western rivalries

New to DVD, "3:10 to Yuma" (Lionsgate, R, $29.95) was one of 2007's most entertaining films and featured an epic rivalry between Russell Crowe as a charismatic outlaw and Christian Bale as the desperate rancher determined to get him to the train bound for Yuma Prison. After you've finished the DVD - whose extras include some deleted scenes that add a little texture, and a respectable documentary about outlaws - you may have a hankering for more of the same. So here's a roundup of great Western adversaries you can hunt down for yourself.

Timothy Olyphant vs. Ian McShane
(HBO, $99.98 per season box set): In David Milch's brilliant, profane, mud-caked cable series, Olyphant's Sheriff Seth Bullock could captain the U.S. Olympic Seething team, emanating a rage so palpable that there ought to be a cloud of it around him.
