In the future Gordon Brown will be seen as the enemy of mankind for supporting nuclear generation but only intelligent aware persons like Alex Salmond have the courage and wit to criticise him now in this age of ignorance. In Burns' day slavery was viewed like nuclear power today and....... .
Measles, Mumps, And Rubella Vaccine Is Not Linked To Autism Spectrum ...
The previously supposed link between autism the MMR jab, a vaccination against measles, mumps, and rubella, has been discredited, according to a study published in the Archives of Disease in Childhood on February 5, 2008. The MMR vaccine had been linked to the development of autism in the light of a 1998 publication, which has since been discredited by the scientific community. Autism spectrum disorders are a set of psychological conditions that are similar to autism, characterized by abnormal social interaction, restricted interests, and repetitive behavior. They are found in approximately 6 to 12 cases per 1000 children depending on the specific diagnostic criteria that are applied. The group studied was taken from a population of approximately 57,000 in one area of Southern England.
QPR fans give thanks a billion times over
Bernie Ecclestone does not mince his words. "One thing’s for sure," he says. "If we owe anything, we pay it back." Ecclestone, one of the wealthiest men in sport with an estimated fortune of £2.24 billion, was not referring to his family policy on monthly credit card repayments. The Formula One impresario was alluding to the debts he inherited when, along with Flavio Briatore, another of motor racing’s more colourful characters, he took over Queens Park Rangers. Their arrival was greeted with rapture by long-suffering fans who in recent years have seen the club teeter from one calamity to another. The subsequent arrival of an even wealthier investor – Lakshmi Mittal, reputedly the world’s fifth-richest man – consolidated a new nickname for the club.
Beware The $299 Scam
Figuring out the Medicare Part D plan is tough enough. But then the scam artists pick up the phone and stir up more trouble. Seniors and people with disabilities must be on high alert for scammers who are calling and requiring a $299 upfront payment to sign up for a prescription drug plan. The Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Services warned consumers earlier this month to watch out for phony drug plans related to Medicare Part D. .

Campaign 'robocalls' catch Congress's ear
"Hello, my name is ... and I'd like to share a few ideas with you about my candidacy." The calls, usually prerecorded and automatically dialed from a phone bank, ramble on about candidate stances, opponent shortfalls, and the need to "get out and vote." But so many abuses have been reported nationwide, especially during this primary season, that the political tele-tactic known as "robocalls" is in the cross hairs of national legislators. A bill introduced Tuesday by Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D) of California, Daniel Inouye (D) of Hawaii, and Arlen Specter (R) of Pennsylvania would curtail the practice. "Something must be done about the worst of these calls," says Senator Feinstein. "During this primary season, we have heard stories about people being called over and over and over again at all hours of the night." Not a ban but rather a "reasonable framework" to limit robocalls, the new guidelines must be "sensible," says Feinstein.
Raiders Add Free Agents
Oakland also has renegotiated running back Dominic Rhodes' contract this week, securing his return for next season. Rhodes was due a $2 million roster bonus on Friday, but agreed to restructure his deal.Rhodes signed as a free agent last year after helping Indianapolis win the Super Bowl. He was suspended for the first four games last season and played sparingly until Justin Fargas went down with a knee injury late in the year. Rhodes ran for 237 yards the last two games of the season and is expected to share the load with Fargas next season. .

Otherwise, why have legal arguments if you're not going to give judges a chance to change their mind," Giuliani said. At the same time, Giuliani also pledged to only appoint judges who strictly interpret the Constitution -- a pledge that is normally interpreted as one to appoint judges who tend to oppose Roe v. Wade as wrongly decided. Such comments are meant to assure Republican voters, most of women are pro-life and, as polls show, likely to vote for someone else in the primary because of his pro-abortion position. The former New York City mayor also told reporters that abortion isn't the top issue to consider when appointing judges. "I think Roe against Wade is an issue. It is not the only issue," he said. Giuliani concluded that he would appoint judges like Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito who both enjoyed support from the pro-life community and ruled this year in favor of the federal ban on partial-birth abortions.
Destruction Of Sumatran Forests Driving Global Climate Change And ...
This groundbreaking report gives U.S. businesses a roadmap for getting the biggest bang for their buck," said Adam Tomasek, managing director of the Borneo and Sumatra program at WWF-US. "An investment in Riau Province would both protect some of the world's largest carbon stores and safeguard endangered tigers, elephants and local communities." Carbon emissions are likely to increase, the study predicted, as most future forest clearance is planned for areas with deep peat soils. "The loss of Sumatra's carbon-rich forest ecosystems is not just Indonesia's problem - this affects the environmental health of the entire planet," added Tomasek. The report by WWF, Remote Sensing Solution GmbH and Hokkaido University breaks new ground by analyzing for the first time the connection between deforestation and forest degradation, global climate change, and population declines of tigers and elephants.
Comments on ‘Hollywood writers abandon Hollywood for web’
The link goes to a site you have to supply an e-mail to. But we don't need to worry as they will respect it. Spam it perhaps but at least do so with respect? As it happens I wish them well but if they are backed with web techies they aught to know that exclusivity has a price online. Or don't the writers know the first 3 things about their business are: Publicity, publicity, publicity. .
KU expecting elite class
The Jayhawks recently rescinded a scholarship offer to North Little Rock, Ark., defensive tackle Zach Stadther because of academic issues and during the fall cut ties with a four-star prospect because of remaining eligibility issues. Meanwhile, KU has done unusually well within the state. The Jayhawks have commitments from four of the state's top 10 players in McPherson tight end Tanner Hawkinson (No. 3 in the state, No. 23 positional ranking), Wichita North defensive tackle Darius Parish (No. 9, No. 58), Dodge City dual-threat quarterback Kale Pick (No. 7, No. 13) and Rossville defensive tackle Duane Zlatnik (No. 5, No. 39). Though there probably will be some changes between Tuesday afternoon and when the faxes come in today, Crabtree isn't expecting much. "Unless something dramatically weird happens, I don't think they're expecting many changes," he said.
